There are several basic requirements for any applicant for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.
- Hold U.S. citizenship at the time of application
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree at the start of the grant period
- Not hold a Ph. D. at the time of application
- Be in good health; finalists must be able to submit a medical certificate signed by a physician
Applicants who hold citizenship of the United States and another country may find that they may not be eligible for awards in their second country of citizenship. Applicants with more than one citizenship should refer to the relevant Fulbright U.S. Student Program page to determine whether they may apply for their other country of citizenship.
Potential applicants should refer to the Eligibility page of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program web site for more information on eligibility and potential disqualifying factors.
